Female History Made in BC Hockey
Historic Season for Female Hockey in BC
The 2025–2026 season will be remembered as a landmark moment for female hockey in British Columbia—and right here in the Okanagan.
In an unprecedented achievement, a host association within the Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association (OMAHA), led by the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association, has made BC Hockey history.
For the first time ever, all three female rep teams — U13, U15, and U18 — captured the full sweep of success:
- 🏆 League Banners
- 🏆 Playoff Banners
- 🥇 Provincial Gold Medals
This incredible accomplishment marks the first time in BC Hockey history that one association has seen all three of its female teams reach the top across every level of competition in the same season.
Beyond the banners and medals, this milestone highlights the strength, depth, and rapid growth of female hockey within the OMAHA league and across British Columbia. It reflects the commitment of athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families who continue to elevate the women’s game.
From the rising stars of the U13 Female A Rockets program, to the development and competitiveness of the U15 Central Zone Rockets team, and the leadership and excellence of the U18 Central Zone Rockets squad, this achievement represents a complete pathway of success.
This historic sweep is more than a collection of championships—it’s a defining moment for female sport in our region. It sets a new standard of excellence and serves as inspiration for the next generation of players across BC.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this extraordinary achievement. Kelowna Minor Hockey Association and the OMAHA community have truly made history.
